| Amr Awadallah |
Amr joined the Accel team as an Entrepreneur in Residence in June 2008, prior to co-founding Cloudera in October of 2008. Previously, he served as Vice President of Engineering at Yahoo! where he led the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics teams for a number of Yahoo!'s flagship properties (Search, Mail, Finance, Sports, etc). He co-founded VivaSmart in June 1999 (also known as Aptivia), which Yahoo! acquired in June 2000 to be the main catalog management system powering Yahoo! shopping service. Amr received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1992 and 1995 respectively, and earned a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2007.
