Kirk Bowman
Kirk Bowman joined Accel in 2011. Prior to Accel, Kirk's most recent operational experience was as the Sales Executive at Equallogic, a leading storage system company, which was acquired by Dell Inc. in 2008 for $1.4 billion. In the 20 years prior to Equallogic, Kirk held sales executive and general management positions at several category defining companies: VMware, Inktomi, Model N, Object Design, and Parametric Technology Corporation. This diverse background has allowed Kirk to develop industry experience with multiple technologies and sales strategies.
Kirk currently serves on the board of various private companies, including Atlassian (software development and collaboration solutions), Code 42 (enterprise, SMB and consumer data backup solutions), Nimble Storage (next generation storage technology), Coverity (software integrity), Datameer (Hadoop solutions), Delphix (database virtualization), and PanoLogic (desktop virtualization). Kirk also advises several other private companies in sales strategy.
Kirk is a Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he teaches a course in building and managing professional sales organizations. He lives in Saratoga, California with his wife and two children.
Education
Kirk received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.
