Dropcam radically simplified video monitoring so that anyone could set up a live video stream (from a baby's nursery to monitoring an office after hours), made accessible on the go via a smartphone and tablet application. Users routinely set up multiple cameras throughout a location, relying on in-app alerts to uncover suspicious activity. Dropcam’s cloud subscription services enabled easy replay and video storage.
