Since 2023, following the arrival of the mainstream generative AI era, the region has experienced an unprecedented wave of ultrafast growth companies. One in five unicorns minted since 2023 reached a $1 billion valuation within two years of founding, compared with just 5% before 2023. Nearly a third reached unicorn status within three years, up from 12% previously.
