Our Investment in Perceptic: The AI Operating System for Drug Discovery and Development
Drug discovery and development today remains a multi-year, deeply siloed process. Pharmaceutical companies have spent decades accumulating proprietary research, clinical data, and institutional knowledge—yet most of it remains effectively invisible. It lives inside systems that were never designed to talk to each other, accessed by teams that were never designed to collaborate. Critical decisions are made without the full picture because, as Perceptic CEO Tilman Flock puts it: "That's a linear process where insight dies at every handoff."
From Fragmented Workflows to Mission Control
AI has arrived in pharma, but it has largely made the problem more complicated. Every team has a tool and every workflow has a co-pilot, making individual steps marginally faster while leaving the silos intact. Indeed, while most AI companies in pharma are building better instruments, Perceptic is building mission control.
Perceptic’s platform serves as an AI operating system for the full drug lifecycle—a shared intelligence layer connecting asset scouting, scientific evaluation, and clinical data. For the first time, the intelligence follows the drug rather than the department. Teams operate with a complete, continuously evolving view rather than across disconnected workflows. In live deployments, this has transformed the pace of discovery: scientific due diligence has been cut from weeks to hours, asset screening has scaled from hundreds per week to thousands in minutes, and clinical data extractions have seen a 50-fold increase.
The platform is already battle-tested and deployed at multiple top-ten pharma companies, biotechs, and CROs, including CSL.
A Founding Team Built for the Moment
Our conviction starts with the founders. Tilman Flock, Martin Copes, and Zaki Trache envisioned and shipped Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) and shaped its Life Sciences practice, deploying production AI inside some of the world's most demanding enterprise environments. Perceptic is designed around those lessons: real workflows, real data, and real decisions inside highly regulated environments.
The team’s vision is to create a self-improving platform where connecting data, context, and decision-making means every insight compounds on the last, and the system grows more valuable with every decision it touches.
We led the $12M seed round alongside Air Street Capital and Elder Gull because the category needed a mission control—and this is the team to build it.
