Creating the Standard for Longevity: Our Seed Investment in Generation Lab

For decades, aging has been treated as an inevitability. We’ve had plenty of wellness trends – from cold plunges to juice cleanses – but little in the way of precise, science-backed tools to slow the biological clock, until now. The longevity market is growing fast, fueled by post-COVID health empowerment, high-profile biohackers like Bryan Johnson (also an Accel founder), and the arrival of therapies that shift aging from “unavoidable decline” to “treatable condition.”
But to treat a problem, you need to measure it. Enter Generation Lab, a company co-founded by renowned longevity researcher Dr. Irina Conboy, that is defining how we measure and eventually treat human aging.
Generation Lab’s SystemAge test uses a patented assay to analyze DNA methylation noise from a small at-home blood sample, producing an organ-by-organ biological age report. In addition, every individual test comes with personalized, science-backed recommendations including everything from therapeutic plasma exchange to supplements and workouts. Today, it’s the most accurate test on the market with 99.9% diagnostic accuracy, and trusted enough that over 275 clinics are already using it to recommend therapies and prove efficacy to patients. For me, the test surfaced a pre-existing condition that was invisible to a standard blood panel. I’m now proactively taking treatments, as well as giving the test to my entire family.
This is not another wellness app or one-size-fits-all health report. It’s a pick-and-shovel tool for the entire longevity ecosystem: clinicians, therapy providers, pharma R&D teams, and consumers at home. And it’s just the beginning. The team’s ambition is to make biological age testing as routine as a cholesterol panel and to leverage their science to develop anti-aging therapies themselves.
The founding trio behind Generation Lab is uniquely qualified to make this happen. CEO Alina Su is a Harvard PhD dropout and longevity lab researcher who combines scientific depth with relentless drive. CSO Irina Conboy is a tenured Berkeley professor and pioneer of the rejuvenating effects of parabiosis, bringing 20 years of groundbreaking aging research. COO Michael Suswal is a repeat unicorn hard-tech founder with a personal mission to extend healthy human lifespan. Their combination of cutting-edge science, operational excellence, and founder grit is rare.
Today, I’m thrilled to announce that Accel is leading Generation Lab’s seed financing. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Alina, Michael, Irina, and the team on their charge to become the standard for longevity. If you want to extend your own healthspan, use their test and check out their open roles.
