Our investment in Legion: Transforming cybersecurity operations

Cyber attacks are on the rise, increasing in both number and complexity as attackers adopt AI to launch sophisticated and persistent strikes with machine-like precision and speed. Security Operations Centers (SOCs) across the globe are overwhelmed by thousands of alerts every day, and most of the alerts prove to be false alarms. This constant noise not only exhausts analysts but creates dangerous blind spots where real threats can go unnoticed. It's clear that traditional security methods are no longer sufficient.
This realization hit us hard when we decided to partner with Legion co-founders Ely, Eyal, and Michael.
We first met Ely in Tel Aviv back in June 2023. He’d already built up an impressive reputation during his time leading product for Microsoft Sentinel, guiding it to become a billion-dollar success story. Ely’s early career also took him on a vibrant journey to New York as a jazz musician, showcasing a brilliant, creative mind. But it was his intense curiosity and determination to solve big problems that captured our attention. From his initial idea, through to numerous conversations and insightful sessions, Ely consistently demonstrated deep technical insight, and unwavering vision. When Ely connected with Michael, a former colleague from Sentinel, and Eyal, an exceptional AI entrepreneur he met while living in London, something clicked. The trio’s unique blend of cybersecurity expertise and groundbreaking AI knowledge suggested they could create something genuinely transformative, leading to their bold idea to completely reshape how SOCs operate.
Legion’s AI SOC analyst is simple and elegant, integrating directly into analysts' workflows via a browser extension. This subtle yet powerful entry point allows Legion to learn continuously from analysts' actions in real time, using advanced language and vision AI models. By automating alert handling from tedious triage to investigation and response, Legion immediately frees analysts to focus on critical threats and strategic decisions. The real brilliance, however, lies in how Legion progressively takes on increasingly complex tasks over time.
Since its founding in 2024, Legion has moved quickly, growing the team to more than 20 people across Tel Aviv and the US. The team has also onboarded some impressive early design customers, including a number of Fortune 500 enterprises across finance, healthcare, and energy.
Legion joins a distinguished group of cybersecurity innovators in our portfolio, standing alongside transformative companies that have shaped the industry, including 1Password, CrowdStrike, Cyera, Netskope, Oasis, Snyk, and Tenable. Legion is poised to become the next pioneering force shaping the future of cybersecurity operations.
Having known and followed the Legion team closely for nearly two years, we're excited to support Ely, Eyal, Michael, and their team on this ambitious journey. Welcome to the Accel family, we can’t wait to build the future with you!
