Sports prediction is a massive global market. But most platforms operate the same way: you are predicting against the house. The platform sets the odds. The platform builds in a margin. And if you win consistently, your limits can be reduced.
This structure isn’t neutral. In traditional sportsbook models, the operator manages risk and sets the pricing. Over time, that shapes everything from liquidity, and who gets to participate meaningfully.
PRED is built on a different idea.
Not predicting against the house
On PRED, users trade with each other. The platform does not set the odds. It does not take the other side of your prediction. It simply matches buyers and sellers and charges a fee.
Prices move based on real demand and supply. For participants who approach sports prediction analytically (for example, modelling probabilities or tracking price movement) this marketplace structure may be appealing. You’re no longer trading against the platform’s balance sheet. You’re trading in a marketplace.
This structure aligns the platform’s incentives with marketplace activity and liquidity rather than taking the other side of user predictions.
Built by someone who lived the problem
PRED’s Co-founder & CEO, Amit Mahensaria, spent 22 years as a sports trader and previously built Impartus. He has operated inside traditional sportsbook systems. He understands how odds are set, how margins are managed, and how winning participants are treated. PRED is a response to that experience.
The platform is built on Base and designed for fast execution and competitive pricing, the fundamentals required for serious sports trading.
Why we invested
Sports prediction exceeds hundreds of billions globally. Yet the dominant model remains house-controlled. PRED brings the exchange model to sports: users trade with each other, the platform facilitates, and pricing is transparent.
Many existing prediction markets are not designed for sports. Sports have unique product and design requirements. Further, live sports move at a very high speed and PRED is building one of the fastest exchanges natively focused on sports trading.
We believe sports trading should be transparent, fair, and aligned with the participant, not positioned against them.
