SolveAI: Scaling Custom Software Across the Enterprise

AI models have made remarkable progress and irrevocably changed the way coding is done in ways that felt impossible not long ago. But in large enterprises, shipping real software is still hard. Production systems live in sprawling legacy codebases and brittle integrations shaped over decades, and delivering change requires deep context: business logic, historical decisions, security, and compliance. Developer teams still carry this burden, often with limited resources and growing backlogs. And, despite unprecedented adoption of AI coding tools, the real transformation of enterprise software still lies ahead.
SolveAI was founded to change this. Founded by former Palantir engineer Steve Basher, SolveAI puts software creation in the hands of the people closest to the work. The company’s AI development platform allows any employee to describe their needs in plain language - pain points, workflows, and dependencies - then generates a proposal in seconds. Once approved, the platform’s specialized agents handle the lifecycle end-to-end: planning, development, and ongoing maintenance.
SolveAI’s Deep Forward-Deployed Engineering Roots
As a forward-deployed engineer at Palantir, Steve saw firsthand the complex problems enterprises face, from large-scale integrations to navigating fragile legacy systems built over decades. That experience shaped SolveAI’s core insight: enterprise software isn’t constrained by a lack of ideas, but by the complexity of execution.
Steve was also a hiring manager for other forward-deployed engineers. When we spoke to his former colleagues, a common refrain among them was: “I joined because of Steve.” He has the rare ability to bring clarity and momentum to hard problems, and has put his team-building skills to work at SolveAI. Steve has assembled a team with decades of combined forward-deployed and engineering experience, from the likes of Citadel, Meta, Palantir, and Spotify.
SolveAI Announces its Pre-Seed and Series A Investment
Today, SolveAI comes out of stealth, announcing its pre-seed round led by Accel and Series A led by our friends at GV, alongside Mantis VC, NeverLift, and Northzone. In addition, the round is joined by strategic angels, including Pushmeet Kohli (DeepMind), Olivier Godement (OpenAI) and Mani Pirouz (SAP), who collectively bring experience from frontier AI labs and in building enterprise software at a global scale.
Enterprise AI adoption remains in the very early stages, even as its potential becomes clearer. From their work as customer-facing engineers, Steve and his team understand that for the enterprise, capturing this value is about much more than simply generating code.
SolveAI is building toward a future where custom software and bespoke engineering can scale across the world’s largest and most complicated organizations. We look forward to partnering with them to make this a reality. Welcome to the Accel family, SolveAI team.
