For the past two decades, traditional Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems have formed the backbone of enterprise security. However, these systems were designed for a different era, and the security landscape has since evolved dramatically. Today, their high costs and complexity are not only burdensome - they are increasingly ineffective in the face of exploding security telemetry and AI-driven threats.
The rapid adoption of cloud services, proliferation of tools, growth of IoT devices, and rise of AI applications have left security teams overwhelmed by terabytes of data and a constant stream of threats. As SIEM costs soar and integration across organizational data sources remains a massive undertaking, security teams are facing dangerous blind spots that delay detection and response. In fact, studies show that during incident response, teams waste nearly two-thirds of critical time simply collecting data from fragmented systems spread across the enterprise.
Recognizing these challenges, Shay Sandler and Eli Rozen founded Vega. Vega’s platform separates detection from SIEM data storage. Using a federated model, it queries data directly at the source—quickly and efficiently—eliminating costly duplication and ingestion while improving detection accuracy with AI-powered analytics, automation, and contextual enrichment.
When we first met Shay and Eli just over a year ago, they were fully immersed in building Vega. Even then, it was clear they shared not only a strong partnership but also the courage to challenge an industry that had remained stagnant for two decades. Backed by deep technical expertise, they set out to design a security solution built for the modern era. Both bring extensive backgrounds in cybersecurity, data analytics, and enterprise software as alumni of Unit 8200 and Granulate. In those high-pressure, fast-moving environments, they not only honed their execution skills but also witnessed firsthand the struggles today’s security teams face.
With Vega, organizations gain a unified platform to query their data and address security-related questions—no matter where that data resides. Whether logs are distributed across data lakes, SIEMs, object stores, or cloud storage, Vega reduces costs, accelerates response times, and strengthens overall threat resolution. Its advanced threat detection capabilities integrate seamlessly with existing solutions, rather than competing against them, and have already delivered measurable ROI for enterprises through both cost savings and operational efficiency. We’ve been deeply impressed by the team’s early traction and are confident they have the expertise and ambition to transform the legacy SIEM market.
The Vega team now joins a portfolio of category-defining security companies we’ve been fortunate to partner with over the years. From early investments in leaders like 1Password, CrowdStrike, Netskope, Snyk, and Tenable, to more recent partnerships with rising innovators such as Cyera, Filigran, Legion, Oasis, and Tracebit, we’ve long believed in the critical importance of cybersecurity.
Congratulations to the Vega team and welcome to the Accel family!
