We’re excited to welcome Kendall Collins to the Accel Family as our latest Executive in Residence (EIR).
Kendall has served in many roles during his career, most recently as the GM of Enterprise Technology at WeWork, where he spearheaded the development of spatial analytics offerings while overseeing the acquisitions of Teem and GetEuclid. Before his time at WeWork, Kendall was the Chief Marketing Officer at AppDynamics, where he helped develop the Business IQ product line and prepared the company for public markets. AppDynamics was bought by Cisco for $3.7B just days before its planned IPO.
Kendall served in R&D, marketing and sales organizations during his 12 years with Salesforce. He led the Salesforce Mobile portfolio, Salesforce Communities, Lightning Platform, Search, and overall UX as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Salesforce Cloud business unit. During his 3 years as global Chief Marketing Officer, he drove global expansion, revamp of digital strategy, and a transformation of the global brand.
We first got to know Kendall during his time at Salesforce. Initially, it was when he provided thoughtful advice to me and the RelateIQ team during our integration into the Salesforce fold. But what became quickly evident is that Kendall possesses unique leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of how to drive growth.
Over time, more of the Accel team got to know Kendall through his work with portfolio company, Algolia, where he still serves as Director and Board Member.
What we’ve learned in our time working alongside Kendall is that he has an innate ability to seamlessly guide companies at their most pivotal—and occasionally vulnerable—moments. That's why we couldn't be more thrilled to have him be a part of Accel’s EIR program where he will meet and partner with founders and executives within our portfolio, undoubtedly adding tremendous operational value and insight into not only enterprise software product strategy, but messaging and positioning for growing companies.
