Matt joined Accel in 2025 and focuses on AI startups centered on developer infrastructure and enterprise applications. Previously, he was Chief Business Officer at Scale AI, where he built and led operations, go-to-market, and other core business functions through multiple stages of the company’s growth. Earlier, he worked in growth and operations at Dropbox and ClassPass, and began his career as a consultant at McKinsey. Matt is from the NJ/NY/CT area and earned his B.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT.

What's the most impactful piece of advice you've received?
When I was about to join Scale as the ~10th employee and first senior business hire, Fritz Lanman (CEO of ClassPass / MindBody) gave me the most practical advice for managing stress in an early-stage company: just assume you're already dead and you won't be paralyzed by fear or stress!
What's something people are surprised to learn about you?
My wife is an active derm content creator on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. I'm her manager and negotiate her brand partnerships and content licensing agreements. I've also had to spend more time than I care to admit figuring out how to use QuickBooks for her bookkeeping.
What's your all-time favorite movie, TV show, or book?
I'm really into Severance lately. As a father to two young, loud, and energetic kids, I feel like I really need to work hard to maintain constant calm and composure when parenting them. I try my best to channel my inner Mr. Milchick!
